The Bosch Climate 5000 MAX Performance Single Zone 1-Way Cassette Heat Pump combines the clean ceiling-recessed installation of the 1-way cassette format with the highest cold-climate performance available in the Bosch Climate 5000 ductless lineup. The indoor cassette unit mounts flush inside a dropped ceiling grid and discharges conditioned air in one direction, while the MAX Performance outdoor condenser delivers reliable heating down to -30°C (-22°F).
With up to 24.0 SEER2 cooling efficiency and 9.5 HSPF2 heating efficiency — the highest ratings of any 1-way cassette model in this series — this system is the right choice for offices, commercial spaces, server rooms, or any ceiling-mount application in colder parts of the GTA, Barrie, Newmarket, or surrounding areas where maximum winter performance matters.

MAX Performance vs Regular – What's the Difference?
Both models use the identical 1-way cassette indoor unit (IDU). The difference is entirely in the outdoor condenser unit (ODU). The MAX Performance ODU delivers:
- Deeper cold climate heating — down to -30°C (-22°F) vs -25°C (-13°F) on the Regular
- Higher SEER2 — up to 24.0 vs 22.2 on the Regular, meaning lower cooling costs
- Higher HSPF2 — up to 9.5 vs 9.0 on the Regular, meaning lower seasonal heating costs
- Stronger heating output at extreme temperatures — maintains higher BTU delivery as temperatures drop below -20°C
If your property is in a colder area north of the GTA, or if this system will serve as the primary heat source through the full winter, the MAX Performance model is the stronger long-term investment even at the higher upfront cost.
What Is a 1-Way Cassette Heat Pump?
A 1-way cassette is a ceiling-recessed indoor unit that mounts flush inside a dropped ceiling tile grid and distributes conditioned air through a single discharge outlet in one direction. Only the slim face panel is visible from below — the unit body sits above the ceiling plane.
This format is ideal for:
- Offices and commercial spaces where wall-mount units are not suitable
- Corridors and narrow rooms where one-directional airflow covers the full space
- Server rooms and utility spaces requiring ceiling-level conditioning
- Any application where a completely clean wall presentation is required

This is a complete single zone heat pump system consisting of one outdoor condenser unit (ODU) and one ceiling-recessed 1-way cassette indoor unit (IDU), connected by a refrigerant line set. Both components are factory-matched for optimal efficiency and performance.
