Homes in North York: What We See
North York has a bit of everything: post-war bungalows and side-splits from the 1950s and 60s, older homes still heated by hot water radiators, and a steady wave of large custom rebuilds in Willowdale, York Mills and Armour Heights. Many original bungalows have small ducts that were never sized for central air, and many radiator homes have no ducts at all.
Rebuilding in Willowdale or York Mills? We design the whole mechanical system on new custom homes: boiler and radiant floors, HRV, gas piping and ductwork, with one contractor responsible from rough-in to startup.
What We Usually Recommend in North York
| Your home | What usually fits | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Older home with hot water radiators | High-efficiency boiler or combi boiler, plus ductless heat pumps for cooling and shoulder-season heat | Boiler installation · Combi boilers · Ductless |
| Custom build or major renovation | Boiler with radiant floor heating, an HRV, and a heat pump or ducted system for cooling | Custom home HVAC · Radiant floors |
| Ducted home with an aging furnace and AC | Hybrid heat pump paired with a high-efficiency furnace (heat pump rebates may apply) | Heat pump installation · Hybrid systems |
| Multiplex, garden suite or laneway home | Separate systems per unit: ductless, combi boilers or VRF | Multi-unit HVAC |
Every home is different. We confirm the right system after a site visit or a review of photos, and quote it in writing before any work starts.
