The Panasonic INTERIOS hybrid heat pump adds a cold-climate inverter heat pump and a cased A-coil to your gas furnace. The heat pump heats and cools the home for most of the year, and the furnace takes over only when it is needed. It runs on R454B refrigerant and the heat pump keeps heating down to −30 °C (−22 °F). Bison Air is an authorized Panasonic dealer, and every price includes standard installation in Toronto and the GTA.

🔥 How a Hybrid System Works
The heat pump is the main heat source. When it gets very cold, or when your settings call for it, the control switches heating to the furnace. The two never run at the same time: the control locks out the furnace while the heat pump runs and the reverse. In summer the same heat pump cools the home through your existing ductwork.

Ranges cover the different A-coil cabinets for each size. The 5-ton system uses the CU-HM55BAHU, Panasonic's largest cold-climate INTERIOS outdoor unit, with a 60K A-coil (rated 52,000–53,000 BTU/h cooling). We size every home from a heat-loss calculation, not square footage alone. Ratings from Panasonic submittals (April 2025).

We match the coil width to your furnace cabinet. All coils are cased, multi-position (upflow, downflow, horizontal) with a TXV, and include an A2L refrigerant leak sensor.
