The Bosch Climate 5000 Universal 1-Way Cassette Indoor Unit is a ceiling-recessed air handler that mounts flush inside a dropped ceiling tile grid and distributes conditioned air through a single discharge outlet in one controlled direction. Only the slim panel face is visible from below — the unit body sits above the ceiling plane — making it ideal for corridors, narrow rooms, server rooms, and any space where directional ceiling airflow is required without wall-mounted equipment.
This is a universal indoor unit, compatible with both single-zone and multi-zone Bosch Climate 5000 R454B outdoor condensers. Available in 9,000, 12,000, and 18,000 BTU.

1-Way vs 4-Way Cassette – Which Is Right for Your Space?
Both the 1-way and 4-way cassette units mount flush in a dropped ceiling grid with only the face panel visible from below. The difference is in the airflow direction:
- The 1-way cassette discharges air in a single direction — ideal for corridors, narrow rooms, server rooms, and spaces where airflow directed along one wall provides complete coverage
- The 4-way cassette discharges air equally in all four directions — better suited for square or open-plan spaces where even 360° distribution from a central ceiling point is needed
If your space is square or open-plan, the 4-way cassette will generally provide better overall coverage. If your space is long and narrow, or you want to direct airflow toward a specific area, the 1-way cassette is the right choice.
