What is the Ductless heat pump?

A ductless heat pump, or mini split, heats and cools without ductwork. An outdoor unit connects to one or more indoor heads through a small refrigerant line, and each head controls its own room. It is the most common way to add efficient heating and cooling to Toronto homes with radiators, additions or finished basements.

⚙️ How It Works

The outdoor unit holds the compressor. Refrigerant lines run through a small hole in the wall to each indoor head. In winter the system moves heat from outdoor air into the room; in summer it reverses. Inverter compressors speed up and slow down to hold a steady temperature.

Ducted (concealed)

Hidden in a ceiling or bulkhead; serves one or a few rooms through short ducts.

Ceiling cassette

Sits flush in the ceiling and blows four ways.

Floor console

Low on the wall; good for heating and under windows.
